Brief History... 

Our new president was Lion Marty Kleinschmidt. One of Marty’s 1st proposed projects was the sale of tipboards. The minutes from October of the year show that Lion Marty stated he would be glad to provide bail bond for all arrested Lions. Instead of tipboards, Lion Arne Dufseth suggested we hold an auction—a slave auction. We were looking for a new fund raiser because at that time we had only 23 cases of light bulbs left from 1983. That year Lion Marty presented the Lion of the Year award to Lion Tom Hirsch.
